That’s exactly what happened to this reported case of Pujaan Pertama Sdn Bhd v Yap Lee Chuan & Ors [2023] 2 CLJ 442, in which our counsel represented the land owner.
In a stunning turn of events, it was revealed that the land had been unlawfully transferred by individuals posing as the land owner themselves. The transaction involved a web of deceit, with forged signatures and an elaborate scheme to defraud.We won the case at the Court of Appeal in December 2022. But the fight was not over. We secured the victory today when the Federal Court dismissed the other side’s application to appeal to the Federal Court!
